We are excited to announce a super, sexy Intercollegiate LGBT Salsa Night and we hope you’ll join us! Get ready to meet new people, learn some new moves, have an all-around good time, and maybe even discover a new passion for Latin dance. The evening will include a one hour dance lesson taught by professional dancer and instructor, Ernesto Palma. After the lesson, there will be time to grab a partner and try your new moves to some great Latin tunes. The event is designed for all experience levels - so do not worry if you are just starting out. Singles and couples are welcome, no need to bring a partner. For those of you who would like a beverage to loosen your hips (some, but not too much!), the event is BYOB, so bring your preferred beverage. Attire is casual, and comfortable clothing and shoes are recommended. Shoes with leather soles are best but sneakers are fine as well.

About the Instructor, Ernesto Palma: Ernesto Palma is an NYC-based professional dancer, instructor, and choreographer. Of Costa Rican decent, Ernesto began dancing at the age of 11, and hasn’t stopped since. Ernesto is an expert in nineteen dances in the Rhythm, Latin, Smooth and Social styles, and competes in the national competitive ballroom circuit. As a competitive dancer, Ernesto won the National Latin Same Sex Ballroom Championship with his dance partner, Louis, in 2010. In 2013, Ernesto placed 5th in the USDC National Mambo Championship and 2nd overall in the Rising Star category at the Yankee Championships. In addition to his competitive dance career, Ernesto has danced for stars and programs such as Marc Anthony, Daniel Patric Ellis, The Today Show, The Tyra Banks Show and The Robert Verdi Show. As an instructor, Ernesto has shared his love of dance (and his moves of course!) with thousands of students of all levels of experience. He is a passionate teacher and enjoys inspiring people of all ages and experience levels to get out and dance.
