Come join us for an evening with Jessica Hansen, the artistic director and co-founder of Lean and Hungry Theater. Jessica is is an Actors Equity Association Membership Candidate, a member of the Screen Actors Guild and a recognized Actor/Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors. She has an undergraduate degree in Creative Writing and worked in the field of Public Relations before embarking on a career as a professional working actor. Jessica has taught classical theatre techniques to middle school-aged students with The Shakespeare Theatre, the Maryland Shakespeare Festival, and Encore Stage & Studio.
Jessica co-founded Lean & Hungry Theater in 2006 in Washington, DC and uses theater and radio drama to make Shakespeare make sense to audiences of all ages. Lean and Hungry Theater does radio adaptations of Shakespeare. Their performances are recorded before a live audience and aired several times a year in Washington, DC by WAMU, and in several other markets, including Austin, TX, Tampa, FL, and Southern California. The company is endorsed by the National Federation of the Blind and does educational work with blind students, high schools in the DC, and other underserved communities in the DC-area, including the elderly.
We hope you will join us. Please make sure to invite spouses, partners, and friends for this evening.
