WHEN: Saturday, November 16th, meet @ 10AM; begin hiking @ 10:15AM
WHERE: Griffith Park, Canyon Drive (Bronson Canyon) entrance, Los Angeles, CA
Directions & Parking: If you coming from the East Side on Franklin Ave, take a right on to Canyon Drive. If you are coming from the West Side on Franklin Ave, take a left on to Canyon Drive. Drive all the way to the end - you will see a gate into the park. You can park curbside prior to the gate, or inside the park. There is also a small parking lot if you keep driving in but it fills up fast. We will meet in the first parking lot.

If you like sharing an outdoor adventure with others, then this hike is for you. After the hike, for those who want to, we will stop by The Oaks Gourmet on Bronson Ave and Franklin Ave for a bite.
We will start by the Bronson Caves, make our way up to the top of one of the mountains on an off-the-beaten-path trail to a ridge trail towards Dante's Peak. We'll go uphill all the way to Dante's View and then make our way down the other side on a more heavily trafficked trail down. This is a challenging hike (8 out of 10) with a very steep start and a steady uphill climb for the first ~3mi. The loop is about 5.7mi and takes 2-2.5 hours (approximate route map below). Trail shoes/hiking boots are recommended, sturdy sneakers should be fine (do not wear sandals, Converse-like shoes, non-athletic shoes). Please bring ample water and snacks. Shorts are fine but if you don't like being scratched by overgrown shrubs, please wear hiking pants.
