WHEN: Saturday, January 21, 2017, meet at 10:00. Return around 2:00.
WHERE: Trippet Ranch, Topanga State Park, 20825 Entrada Drive, Topanga 90290 (meet by the restrooms)
LEVEL: Moderate to strenuous, depending on fitness level.
COST: Parking in the park is $10. (Parking is free on the road outside the park, but read signs carefully.)

Join
fellow alumni on this hike up to "the other" Eagle Rock, which stands
1,957 feet above sea level. Take in the sandstone cliffs, beautiful rock
formations, and stunning panoramic views of the Pacific and Santa Ynez
Canyon. Bring a lunch for a stop along the way, and two liters of water.
Trail shoes or boots recommended. Rain cancels.
Directions:
Take the Pacific Coast Highway north from Santa Monica to Topanga
Canyon Boulevard. Head north on Topanga Canyon for 4.7 miles. Just past
the village of Topanga, bear right onto Entrada Road and follow the
signs for Topanga State Park/Trippet Ranch for 1.1 miles. (GPS
coordinates: 34.093654, -118.587799)
Parking
is limited, so carpooling is recommended. Santa Monica carpool will
meet at 9:15 on Nebraska Ave. just west of Centinela Ave. in Santa
Monica.
