Lifelong activist David Abbott, a former member of ACT-UP (an early AIDS awareness group)and the current director of one of New England's largest STD testing clinics, the Rhode Island AIDS project, will be speaking about his experiences with civil disobedience, direct action, and political demonstrations. Detailing the history of activism in the LGLBT and the HIV/ AIDS movement, David will also be speaking about why activism remains critical for the movement today.
